Feel free to cut the batch in half. With the recipe below, you’ll get 8 x 8oz servings.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 medium onion
- 8 cloves of garlic
- 2 x 28oz cans of tomatoes
- salt, pepper, spices to taste – I’ve used 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper and 1 tsp dried basil or oregano
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Add 1/2 cup oil in a 3-4 qt pot and saute the chopped onions on medium until translucent.
- Add chopped garlic and saute for a minute or two.
- Add 2 cans of crushed or whole peeled tomatoes.
- Add 1/2 cup water in each can, swirl to get the remaining tomatoes and add to the pot.
- Simmer for about 30 mins. You’ll see that the oil floats on top.
- Optional: Use a food processor if you don’t like chunky sauce.
