Ingredients:

  • 1.2kg cherries
  • 600g sugar
  • juice from 1 lemon

Instructions:

  • Remove the pits from cherries and cut them in half. You’ll have about 1kg of pitted cherries.
  • Add sugar
  • Mix really well. Do not break the cherries.
  • Cover and leave overnight.
  • In a double bottomed pan, start cooking on medium until the cherries start boiling.
  • Add lemon juice.
  • Bring the temperature to medium low and cook for another 30 mins, mix frequently.
  • Transfer the preserve to jars, close the lids and boil them for another 10 mins.
