Ingredients:
- 1.2kg cherries
- 600g sugar
- juice from 1 lemon
Instructions:
- Remove the pits from cherries and cut them in half. You’ll have about 1kg of pitted cherries.
- Add sugar
- Mix really well. Do not break the cherries.
- Cover and leave overnight.
- In a double bottomed pan, start cooking on medium until the cherries start boiling.
- Add lemon juice.
- Bring the temperature to medium low and cook for another 30 mins, mix frequently.
- Transfer the preserve to jars, close the lids and boil them for another 10 mins.
