Ingredients:

  • 1 sour cabbage
  • About 2 lbs pork or chicken
  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots or about 12-15 baby carrots
  • 1 cup vegetable or olive oil
  • Spices but do not use salt

Instructions:

  • Slice the cabbage in thin stripes about this size, drain it and set it aside.
  • Slice the meat about bite size and saute it in a 4+ qt pot with 1 cup oil.
  • Slice the onion and the carrots and set them aside.
  • When the meat is done, remove from the pot with slotted/drain spatula, but keep the oil in the pot.
  • Add the onions and carrots in the pot with the oil and saute them until done.
  • Add the cabbage, cover and simmer for about 30 mins. Check and mix every 5 mins.
  • Transfer the cabbage, onion, carrots mix in an oiled (about 3-4 Tbsp) 9″ x 13″ pan and mix it with the meat.
  • Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake it on 400F for 1 hour, remove the foil and bake for another 15-30 mins until the liquid evaporates.
